The Registrar of Societies (RoS) says Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) registration was approved effective Aug 7 under the political category, in line with the provisions of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 335).
Referring to claims that information on PN’s registration was not on the record, the RoS said the party was given a registration certificate numbered PPM-019-14-07082020, approved and signed by the RoS.
“The party’s registration certificate, logo and constitution were signed and presented to PN as soon as its registration was approved,” it said in a statement.
PKR Youth vice-chief Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman had reportedly claimed that checks on the RoS website failed to show that PN was a registered entity.
But the RoS said the approval of any organisation would be automatically updated in the system every two months.
“The approval status of PN will only appear on the website in early October, as it was issued in August,” it said.
It added that a specific search of the eROSES system would show the date on which PN received approval.
However, it said this information could only be accessed by the party’s secretary.
