Travel from Sabah to the peninsula, Sarawak and Labuan will be restricted from Oct 7 to 20 in light of the spike in Covid-19 cases in the state, the government announced today.

This follows the announcement just yesterday that only Sabahans and those who possess passes issued by the Sabah immigration department would be allowed to enter the state beginning Oct 7.

In a statement, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said exceptions would be made for certain cases such as those involving emergencies, deaths, essential services and any others with permission from the health ministry.

Those who are given permission will be required to undergo Covid-19 screening upon arrival at the entry point of their destination.
