A total of 489 new cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed cases in the country to 13,993.
Of these, 487 were local transmissions involving 467 Malaysians and 20 foreigners, while the remaining two imported cases involved one Malaysian and one foreigner.
The death toll remains unchanged at 141.
The bulk of new cases were recorded in Sabah (282) and Kedah (153) while Selangor recorded 20 more infections.
A majority of the cases reported in Kedah were from the Tembok cluster while those in Sabah were recorded in red zone areas.
Active cases stand at 3,351 or 23.95% of total confirmed cases, with 40 in the ICU and 13 in need of respiratory assistance.
A total of 74 patients were discharged, taking total recoveries to 10,501 or 75.04%.
