The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) today assured that applications for Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) aid are free, with no charges levied for services rendered in filling out forms.

In a statement, it said it had received complaints by some of charges imposed for filling out the application forms.

“As an agency under the finance ministry entrusted with managing this special government aid, we wish to stress that BPR applications are free, with no fees charged to applicants,” it said.

“LHDN has also never authorised anyone to provide services in filling out these forms.”

It said each application, whether received online or in paper form, is examined according to fixed procedures with no exceptions made.

The application process for BPR is open until Feb 15.
