6 more deaths as new cases remain over 1,000

Another 1,384 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 335,540.

Selangor recorded 625 cases, Johor 161, Sarawak 140 and Penang 100.

Kelantan recorded 65 cases followed by Kuala Lumpur (64), Sabah (60), Kedah (51), Melaka (45), Pahang (38), Labuan (14), Negeri Sembilan (10), Terengganu (seven) and Perak (four).

Active cases stand at 14,454 with 148 in the ICU and 62 in need of respiratory assistance.

Three new clusters were detected:

1. Balakong Jaya Dua (Hulu Langat and Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 72 screened, 37 positive)
2. Jalan Indah Gemilang Satu (Johor Bahru in Johor; 259 screened, 78 positive)
3. Teknologi Bukit Minyak (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan and Barat Daya in Penang; 1,685 screened, 98 positive)

Fifteen others ended, leaving 399 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,058 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 319,842.

However, six more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,244.
