Energy minister ready to resign today if instructed by Umno

An Umno Supreme Council member who is part of the Cabinet today said he would abide by any decision for the party to quit all government posts.

Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, who is the energy and natural resources minister, said as an Umno leader, he was bound by all decisions made by the party.

“This will ensure that Umno remains steadfast, to recover and return to its former place in this country,” he said on the sidelines of the Umno general assembly.

Earlier, Umno adviser Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said all Cabinet members from Umno alongside those holding positions in government-linked companies should resign immediately, if a motion on cutting ties with Bersatu is endorsed by the delegates.
