PM visits Kuching mee kolok outlet mentioned in Prihatin speech

He says the noodles, in which Salleh Reduan has been specialising for more than 20 years, were 'very good'.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today dropped by for a bite at a mee kolok stall in Kuching mentioned in his speech to introduce the Prihatin assistance for SMEs last year.

Muhyiddin, who is in Sarawak on his first official visit since becoming prime minister, went to Sepinang Sari Cafe with his wife Noorainee Abdul Rahman at about 7.30am.

When asked about the food, he said: “This is very good.”

The popular cafe is also known as Haji Salleh’s Kolok Mee. The owner, Salleh Reduan, has been selling mee kolok there for over 20 years though it is now run by his daughter, Faridah.

Muhyiddin was joined in his meal by Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg and several other state leaders.

The prime minister also signed a plaque to commemorate his visit to the eatery.
