Twenty-two Ramadan bazaars across the country have been told to close effective tomorrow in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 in those areas.
The housing and local government ministry said in a statement that these bazaars had been identified as having the potential to spread the virus, based on a contact tracing analysis done by the health ministry through the MySejahtera app.
It said the decision was made at a special meeting of the National Security Council on April 28.
The bazaars, identified as high-risk areas as of April 15, comprise four in Johor, three in Kedah, two in Pahang, one in Perak, eight in Penang, two in Selangor and two in Kuala Lumpur.
