Perak mufti Harussani dies of Covid-19

He had tested positive for Covid-19 last week and was admitted to the ICU of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh.

One of the country’s most outspoken state muftis, Harussani Zakaria, has succumbed to Covid-19. He was 82.

He tested positive for Covid-19 last week and was admitted to the ICU of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh, Perak, along with his wife Ainon Abdul Ghani.

Ainon recovered and was discharged on May 21.

Harussani was appointed as Perak mufti in 1985, and held several positions at both state and federal level.

His remains will be laid to rest at the Kg Melayu Sg Rapat cemetery.
