New cases dip again to 5,271 but over 900 in ICU

Another 5,271 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 622,086.

Selangor recorded 1,374 new cases, Sarawak 703, Negeri Sembilan 571, Kuala Lumpur 455, Johor 355, Kelantan 341, Sabah 336, Labuan 209, Kedah 194, Melaka 178, Perak 177, Penang 153 and Terengganu 117.

Pahang recorded 99 cases, Putrajaya eight and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 84,269 with 902 in the ICU and 447 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 7,548 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 534,357.

However, 82 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 3,460.
