The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government today reaffirmed its support of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration, saying the coalition would not shift its endorsement of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Speaking at a press conference in Kuching, Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg said it was important to maintain political stability, especially as the country is still battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We have discussed and arrived at a consensus view on what has been going on in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
“Our stand is, GPS supports the PN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.”
Abang Johari, who is GPS chairman, also urged all politicians to join hands in facing the Covid-19 crisis.
“This is not the time for politicking that will undermine stability. This is the time for all politicians to consolidate and unite, and bring the country out of this pandemic crisis.”
