Over 25 million jabs given, nearly 28% of population fully vaccinated

Just under 49% of the population have received a first dose.

A total of 25,008,230 doses of Covid-19 vaccine had been administered through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) as of yesterday, says Health Minister Dr Adham Baba.

Of the total, 15,959,596 individuals received a first dose while 9,048,634 received a second.

“In terms of percentage, 48.9% of the country’s population have received at least a first dose of the vaccine, including 27.7% who have completed both doses of the vaccination,” he said.

In terms of daily vaccination rate, 465,793 doses were administered yesterday with 187,495 as first doses and 278,298 as second.

PICK was launched on Feb 24 to contain the Covid-19 pandemic which hit the country early last year.
