Over 28% of population fully vaccinated

Nearly 69% of the adult population have completed both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Some 28.3% or 9,246,295 of the country’s population had completed both doses of Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, says Health Minister Dr Adham Baba.

A total of 16,119,916 people have received a first dose of vaccine, bringing the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered until yesterday to 25,366,211.

“According to percentage, 68.9% of the country’s adult population have received a first dose, and 39.5% have completed both doses,” he said.

On the daily vaccination rate, 357,891 vaccine doses were dispensed yesterday with 160,320 as first doses and 197,661 as second.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme was launched on Feb 24 to curb the spread of the virus in the country.
