Sixty-five Form One and Two students at Sekolah Seri Puteri in Cyberjaya have tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a Twitter post by the communications team of Radzi Jidin, the education minister had visited the school to check on the situation.
“This is the first time a boarding school has reported this many cases. Pray that all affairs will be eased,” it said.
Last year, the education ministry said it could close any school in the country for seven days if a Covid-19 case was detected, without having to wait for the health ministry’s confirmation.
Educational institutions under the ministry in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Melaka resumed operations on Nov 1 following the states’ shift to Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan on Oct 18.
