Muslims in the country will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri tomorrow, on May 2, Keeper of the Royal Seal Syed Danial Syed Ahmad announced today.

“In order to fulfil the decree of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, following the consent of the rulers, I confirm that Hari Raya Puasa for states throughout Malaysia has been fixed on Monday, May 2,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in a statement that the replacement holiday for Labour Day would be brought forward to May 4.

Muslims in Malaysia will be celebrating Aidilfitri under relaxed Covid-19 restrictions for the first time in two years, following the country’s transition towards the endemic phase which began on April 1.
