Amanah has dropped Sepang incumbent Mohamed Hanipa Maidin, a former deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Department, as a candidate in the 15th general election (GE15).
Amanah president Mohamad Sabu made the announcement at a press conference to announce the party's GE15 candidates in Kuala Lumpur today.
Hanipa will be replaced by women's chief Aiman Athirah al-Jundi.
The announcement today confirmed previous speculation that Hanipa would not be fielded for the Nov 19 election due to health concerns.
Bersatu women's chief Rina Harun meanwhile has been said to be eyeing the seat.
Mohamad also announced that Shah Alam incumbent Khalid Samad would be moved to Titiwangsa.
Meanwhile, deputy youth chief Nik Abdul Razak Nik Md Ridzuan will be contesting the Tasek Gelugor seat in Penang.
