Leaders from Barisan Nasional (BN) component MIC were absent from the coalition's event tonight to announce its candidate line-up, believed to be over disappointment that the party was not given fair representation to contest the Nov 19 general election.

Both president SA Vigneswaran and his deputy M Saravanan were absent from the event where BN chief Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is expected to announce the full line-up.

Several reports meanwhile said that the party would hold an emergency meeting tomorrow to decide whether it will participate in the coming polls.

It is believed that MIC had earlier submitted the names of 10 candidates to BN.
