Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani today denied calling PKR president Anwar Ibrahim and telling him to be prepared to form the government after the general election.

Anwar had said in a video of a speech at a campaign last night that Pakatan Harapan (PH) was expected to win more than 112 seats in Parliament.

He also said that Acryl had called him, asking him to stand by.

Speaking at a press conference in Gombak today, the top cop said this was not true.

However, he said he did not plan to take any action against the opposition leader.

"It's possible that he was caught up in the heat of the moment when campaigning," he added.

Anwar is contesting the Tambun parliamentary seat in Perak.

Most analysts have agreed that the race for support will be too tight to call, with no single coalition expected to win enough seats to form a government on its own.
