Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) will use the "unity" formula to support its political allies in the coalition government to jointly recapture Kedah in the upcoming state elections, its vice president Adly Zahari said.
Adly, who is also deputy defence minister, said he was confident that through this approach, and the consensus reached between Amanah and its political allies, there was a good chance of capturing Kedah.
"I am confident that this 'unity' formula offers much scope not only to defend the three states (Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan) but also to recapture Kedah and at the same time, Kelantan and Terengganu," he told reporters after presenting the Prior Experiential Learning-RPEL recognition programme and Perhebat certificates to Malaysian armed forces veterans in Sungai Buloh today.
Meanwhile, commenting on the meeting between Khairy Jamaluddin and key leaders of the coalition government and Perikatan Nasional, Adly said this was the best way to determine the future and political career of the former health minister.
"I believe that the unity government led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is doing well because it takes into account all views and is based on the spirit of unity from the beginning," he said.
Khairy's presence in discussions with several business figures and economic experts, including Umno vice-president Johari Abdul Ghani raised questions about his decision to join the coalition government after he was sacked by Umno on Jan 27.
