Gombak Setia assemblyman Muhammad Hilman Idham today blasted the state government after officers from the Gombak land and district office arrived to force him to vacate the service centre.
Hilman said the eviction notice, however, was not signed by the district officer but by the deputy district officer (enforcement).
"I want to emphasise that the excuse given, that no state government authorisation was given to set up the service centre on the land, is foolish and does not make sense," he said in a statement.
Earlier today at 3.50pm, enforcement officers from the Gombak land and district office as well as the Selayang municipal council arrived at the centre to begin the eviction.
He said the service centre has been operating on that land for the past five years with the full knowledge of the state government.
He added that this action is a sign that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration is fearful of Perikatan Nasional in the lead-up to the upcoming state elections.
"I advise PH leaders not to use government officials for their politically motivated actions.
"I believe the state civil servants will not bow down to or tolerate any pressure of this nature," he said.
