Perikatan Nasional (PN) has lodged a complaint with the Negeri Sembilan religious affairs department over an incident in which a group of individuals wearing shirts with the coalition's logo were not allowed to pray at a mosque in Seremban.
In the incident on July 16, a person believed to be the chairman of Masjid at-Taufiqiah Taman Pinggiran Senawang had scolded the group on microphone.
He said that no one wearing shirts with political logos was allowed to pray at the mosque, and the group was told to leave.
A video of the incident later went viral on social media.
Rembau PN chief Nazree Yunus confirmed the complaint to MalaysiaNow.
"They were wearing shirts with the logo because there was a programme for the launch of PN's machinery in the area," he said.
"Some of the youth wanted to stop and pray at the mosque."
The complaint said among others that those wearing the PN shirts had not intended to campaign or speak about politics in the mosque.
It also urged the religious affairs department to take appropriate action.
Nazree said that a police report had also been lodged on the incident.
The mosque was previously embroiled in controversy when the state government cancelled the appointment of the chairman, secretary and treasurer despite them passing their interviews.
Other mosques involved in the controversy were Ar-Raudhah Masjid Taman Rasa Sayang Parish and Bandar Baru Senawang Mosque.
MalaysiaNow has contacted the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department for a response.
