Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor launched his strongest attack yet on Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders yesterday, telling them to get ready for a series of exposes of wrongdoing by previous state administrations including millions of dollars in wastage, debts, as well as a mysterious transaction from a government firm to Canada.
Sanusi said the attacks against him led by PKR's Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Rafizi Ramli were only aimed at putting him in jail.
"Their intention and aim, their biggest wish is to make sure that Sanusi is put in handcuffs and made to wear orange.
"I swear, there will be a bigger uprising than this throughout the country because I will reveal all of these wrongdoings if they put me in orange," the Kedah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief said at an event last night to announce the coalition's candidates in the state for the upcoming polls.
He said there were "tonnes of files" in his office with details of past wrongdoings but that he had never intended to reveal them.
"But if you are ill mannered, I will strip you every day. I have been made to give statements to the police on a daily basis. Two cases today, until evening. Every day, my speeches are scrutinised by a team. Every word is studied.
"Go ahead and report, wimps."
The popular Kedah politician has been a main target of PH and BN leaders in their bid to wrest the state, with top leaders including Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim appearing almost daily in a series of ceramahs over the past few weeks.
Saifuddin, who is also the home minister, has been leading the charge against Sanusi, who was charged with sedition earlier this month after remarks mocking the performance of Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari which were deemed insulting to the Selangor sultan.
Among others, Saifuddin accused Sanusi of involvement in the theft of rare earth minerals and wrongdoing in the long-delayed construction of a motorcycle racing circuit in Sungai Petani.
Sanusi dismissed both accusations as baseless, adding that he was waiting for Saifuddin to reply to his demand to apologise or face a legal suit.
Speaking yesterday, he listed several instances which he said showed wrongdoings by the previous BN state governments, adding that they were the first in a series of exposes he would be making in the coming days.
"I will arrange everything nicely, at every ceramah I will give questions for them to answer," he said.
Giving one instance, Sanusi said that during PH's first term in power, state water company Syarikat Air Darul Aman was hit with RM36 million in losses and RM149 million in debts.
"It was I who had to pay the RM36 million, and the RM149 million. Why didn't you investigate?" he asked Saifuddin.
He also said that when BN was in power, the state entered into an agreement with a company to develop Jerai International Park.
"The agreement was breached, causing the state government to be sued for RM50 million.
"After 30 years of negotiations, the state government was told this year to pay RM21 million. Why didn't you investigate?
"BN leaders did this. Now BN and PH are kissing partners."
He also questioned a transaction amounting RM13 million from MBI to an account in Canada.
"Where did the money go? Why wasn't this investigated?"
