A Pahang state exco was one of the passengers on board the ill-fated aircraft that crashed on a road in Elmina, Shah Alam, police have confirmed.
Pelangai assemblyman Johari Harun was among the eight travelling on board the privately owned aircraft when it crashed on a road, killing two motorists on the ground.
The other victims include two flight crews, Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim as well as Khairil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Mohammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali.
Earlier, Utusan Malaysia reported that all of them were returning from a meeting in Langkawi when their plane crashed at about 2.50pm.
The crash site was a road leading to Elmina in Section U16, Shah Alam, just 5km from the Subang airport.
In one of his final Facebook posts, Johari, who is the exco for local government, housing, environment, and green technology, shared a picture of him attending a meeting at the Bentong Municipal Council.
He won the Pelangai state seat in the 2022 general election, beating three other candidates from Perikatan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan, and Pejuang.
