The Kedah government will be using the National Day logo and theme introduced by the federal government, says Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

"We will follow the federal government just like Terengganu, that’s our stand. There is no issue, (we use) the same logo and theme (as the federal government).

"It is because the celebration is held at the national level, the state will just follow," he said at a press conference after a state executive council meeting at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Setar yesterday.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari previously proposed that the four states under PN administration use a different National Day logo and theme for state-level celebrations.

Fadhli was reported as saying that Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu would likely use the alternative logo and theme "Teguh Muafakat Malaysia Sejahtera" (Strong Consensus for a Prosperous Malaysia) launched by PN Youth.

Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli however said that his administration would also follow Terengganu, Kedah and Kelantan in using the same logo and theme as the federal government.

"The state government will use the same logo and motto as the federal government at the Perlis state-level National Day parade and march past, to be held at the state legislative assembly complex on the night of Aug 30," he told reporters last night.
