A senior Indonesian official has denied that President Prabowo Subianto cancelled a visit to Malaysia for health reasons, refuting a social media post by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Prabowo was scheduled to meet Anwar in Langkawi yesterday.

Anwar had said that the meeting had to be cancelled because Prabowo was ill and he had asked for the meeting to be postponed for a few days.

However, Indonesian Cabinet secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said Prabowo was in good health, adding that the president had held a series of meetings after returning from the D8 summit in Cairo yesterday.

"Upon his arrival, he immediately held a closed-door meeting," Teddy was quoted as saying by Kompas.
