Judge Mohd Yazid Mustafa rules that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the Umno president for all 40 charges of corruption in connection with the foreign visa system.

High Court judge Mohd Yazid Mustafa is scheduled to deliver his decision at the end of the defence case at 9am.

The prosecution says the court only needs to consider the proof provided that Zahid had solicited the money when he had no right to use his position as a minister to obtain it.

Otherwise, the former home minister will be told to enter his defence against the 40 charges against him.

The court will hear the oral submissions before deciding whether to acquit the former home minister or order him to enter his defence.

But the prosecution is asking for the August trial dates to be maintained so that proceedings can continue.
